Canna Business 101: Packaging and Labeling Compliance

It doesn't end with 100 percent federal ­illegality and rigorous Drug Enforcement Agency and Department of Treasury oversight.

Selling medical or adult-use marijuana to consumers requires complying with federal, state and local packaging and labeling ­regulations and regulators. While its Department of Health is ­currently promulgating Pennsylvania's legalized marijuana regulations, a review of other jurisdictions and the overall industry reveals both existing regulatory parameters and trend of growers and product manufacturers transferring packaging and labeling liability to dispensaries.
