CAJARDO R. LINDSEY, SPECIAL COUNSEL
Cajardo Lindsey brings to Hoban and Feola his depth of courtroom trial experience (over 70 jury and court trials) as well as his versatility. His practice focuses on personal injury, criminal defense and civil rights litigation (emphasis on Title IX cases).
As a former Senior Deputy District Attorney for the County of Denver, Cajardo gained the respect of his colleagues, the courts, and even opposing counsel for his commitment to excellence, deft negotiation, masterful oratory skills, and his integrity. During his eight years there, he gained victories in numerous cases, ranging from murder to assault to DUIs. Cajardo was also specially assigned by Bill Ritter to lead a federal grant program (Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant) where he obtained valuable knowledge in family related legal matters.
In addition to working in many different divisions, Cajardo was selected to be cross-deputized as a Special U.S. Attorney for the Front Range Drug Task Force. Cajardo has also worked as a City Attorney for the City of Denver, taking numerous cases to jury trial. Before his season in the public service sector, Cajardo spent time working for the private law firm of Baldwin and Brown, gaining experience in insurance defense, legal malpractice, and cases involving personal injury and breach of contract.
Cajardo obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana. It was through his connections there that Cajardo clerked for the British Inns of Court in London, England and served as a labor relations counsel law clerk for the National Football League Management Council in New York, New York.
Cajardo is just as comfortable in the courtroom as he is on stage, acting in numerous productions for area theater houses including the Denver Center Theatre Company and the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities. In fact, Cajardo has been awarded and nominated numerous times for Best Actor in Colorado.
In addition to the theater, Cajardo enjoys writing and acting in various film and television projects. He also serves as an inspirational speaker and trainer, particularly on the subject of moving from mediocrity to excellence. He has led leadership workshops for professional adults, students at the University of Denver, and even elementary students. You will also find Cajardo sharing poetry at various coffee houses or with at-risk youth through his volunteer work with the non-profit organization, Art from Ashes.
Cajardo is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and received his bachelor’s degree in public administration at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It was at Miami that he was also named captain of the varsity football team.
Today, Cajardo is proud to call Denver his home. Cajardo and his wife have two sons, who keep them on their toes with their seemingly never-ending school and extracurricular activities.
